If you want to make your career in the field of aviation you have to choose the best flight school which polishes your skills and talents. There are specifically two categories of flight school. First one is part 61 of FAA and second is part 141 of FAA. It is up to you weather you choose part 61 or part 141. Basically, choosing flight school is a personal decision so you have to make the decision regarding your flight school. You have to invest your money and time so thoughtfully choose the flight school. You have to do a proper search in the market to choose the best flight school. These two categories of schools are the major thing to understand before choosing your flight school. There are some specific requirements and standards mentioned about completion of training and getting pilot license in the FAA’s regulation book (FAR). In part 61 you will get the freedom to choose the source of study and there is no compulsion of formal ground program of school.
It means there is more flexibility in the part 61. Under this part FAA does not compel or require to instructors to follow the curriculum or syllabus. It means it is totally in the hand of instructor that he/she can choose when and where they cover the syllabus. Students of this part do not require following the formal guidelines of teaching. They can review the materials of expert instructors at their home. However, they have to pass the exam of FAA to get the license. On the other hand those flight schools which come under the part 141 are well structured and systematic. It means it is the opposite of part 61. Here in these schools students and instructor must adhere to the syllabus. Students have to fulfill the criteria of attending the classes. They have to attend the classes for a time being. It means part 141 is not flexible so instructors have to complete the syllabus according the guidelines.
There is one more major difference between these two flights schools is the completion time. Generally, part 61 requires less time to complete the training due to its flexible structure of working. In part 141 the completion time of training is more as compare to part 61 due to its well structured and systematic way of working mechanism. But if you want to understand that which flight school gives you the license easily then you must consider the flight hours. It means FAA requires less flight hours in part 141 as compare to part 61 because of its well structured program and process. Generally, to take private pilot license you have to complete 40 flight hours in part 61 and 35 flight hours in part 141. This is all about the introduction of the flight school. Now you have to choose the best one according to your preference and requirements. So now you can make the prudent decision regarding flight school. Understanding about the types of school will surely help you in choosing the best flight school.
